Imagine if your primary goal of an interview was to make the candidate feel the most confident and excited about what they can uniquely bring to your team.
I’ve seen some of the most talented and caring developers leave interviews deflated, questioning their abilities. It’s so backwards.
I’m pretty tired of the “show us how smart you are” approach to tech interviews. Several hours of code challenges reveal very little of what makes a great teammate.

You can also make this a non-negotiable value of your company/team. Trust and encouragement by default. I’ve experienced it and, you’re right, it is a gift.
