Yup. Also trust is something you do, not something you feel. You can choose to trust the people you hire, even if you don’t know them well yet.
Another red flag is if they’ll let you work remote only once you’ve “proven you’re trustworthy.”

Trust should be the default. A company that doesn't trust it's engineers to work from home or work remotely, probably won't trust them in their day to day jobs, even in an office. It's a red flag to me.
