This weekend I made some custom cookies for a friend. Succulents! Got to try some new techniques with these ones.

Instead of Columbus Day, many Alaskans celebrate Benny Benson Day. ✨

Benny was Native Alaskan (Alutiiq) and an orphan living in a mission home. He was 13 when he designed the flag.

He became a local hero and went on to become an Alaska ambassador. He broke racial barriers when he became the first Native to join the Alaska Elk’s Club.
